FIELD SET FOR 2008 PROVISO WEST TOURNAMENT

The field for the 48^th Annual Proviso West Holiday Tournament has been finalized and will feature two of the projected top three teams in the pre-season rankings for next year.  Defending Proviso West Holiday Tournament champion Whitney Young and state runner-up Zion-Benton should be among the pre-season favorites for next year.
 

Two new teams highlight the competition as Zion-Benton returns to the Proviso West event after playing here from 1975-1983.  And Chicago Foreman, which is expected to be a highly regarded newcomer to state rankings over the next two years and features a pair of sophomores that rate among the top 10 in their class, joins the Proviso West field for the first time.

The complete 16-team field for the 2008 event, which will be played Friday, December 26; Saturday, December 27; Monday, December 29; and Tuesday, December 30, 2008, is as follows: Evanston, Fenwick, Foreman, Glenbrook North, Hillcrest, Homewood-Flossmoor, Morton, New Trier, Proviso East, Proviso West, Saint Joseph, Saint Patrick, T.F. North, Von Steuben, Whitney Young and Zion-Benton.
