The Proviso West Holiday Basketball Tournament has a storied history of memorable moments, outstanding coaches, legendary players and exceptional teams. Through the years, numerous members of the media have covered, promoted and publicized the annual Christmas Classic.
This year the tournament will recognize, at its annual Media Night, four members of the media by presenting them with the Proviso West Holiday Tournament Lifetime Media Achievement Award.
Initial award recipients include: Taylor Bell of the Chicago Sun-Times; Ralph Faucher of WTAQ Radio; Steve Foltin of the City News Bureau and Jerry Shnay of the Chicago Tribune.
"Each one of these special individuals were very instrumental in the media explosion of our tournament," said Executive Tournament Director Joe Spagnolo. "Their service to promoting our event has helped us make Proviso West -- Where Basketball is Best!"
