STEVE FOLTIN – Sports Editor. Steve Foltin worked in the sports department of the City News Bureau from 1968 until the agency’s permanent close in 1999. Working behind the scenes, Foltin oversaw the lone clearinghouse which provided game stories, scores, standings and rosters to the daily papers and media outlets in the days before stringer reporters, fax machines and the internet. His behind the scenes assistance helped the Proviso West Holiday Tournament achieve its media explosion during the eighties and nineties. |
