50-YEAR ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM

JOHN DACEY – Officiating more Holiday Tournament games than anyone else in Holiday Tournament history, John Dacey holds the all-time record of 39 games worked from 1986-2009.  John also is third all-time in Proviso West Tournament championship games with eight title tilts in 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 2000 and 2003.  John worked the state tournament in 1996, 1997 and 2000 and worked the “AA” title game in 1997.  Dacey was inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame as an official in 2007.

PETER KING – The first official to work 25 years at the Holiday Tournament, Peter King has worked at least one game every year from 1984-2009.  King has worked the second most number of games in tournament play with 38.  In Holiday Tournament competition, King has four semi-final and two championship games (1989 & 2002) under his belt.  Peter was assigned to the state tournament in 2000 and 2001 and worked the “AA” title game in 2001.

PAUL MOSELEY – A fifteen year veteran of the Holiday Tournament, Paul Moseley has worked three championship games at Proviso in 1998, 2000 and 2004.  Paul is one of only a handful of officials that worked the state tournament in four years as he worked in Peoria at the “AA” finals in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2006.  Moseley was inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2005.

TONY SACCO – An original member of the official corps for the first Holiday Tournament in 1961, Tony Sacco worked the first 16 tournaments.  Tony worked every Proviso West Tournament Championship game eleven straight years from 1966-1976.  Sacco worked the state tournament from 1961-1963, and worked the first ever title game at Assembly Hall in 1963.  Sacco was inducted into the IBCA Hall of Fame in 1982.

TONY TORTORELLO –Tony Tortorello worked 10 of his record 11 Proviso West Tournament Championship Games with long-time partner Tony Sacco from 1966-1969, and from 1971-1976.  Tortorello also worked the 1964 Proviso West title game.  Tortorello officiated 16 Holiday Tournaments from 1961-1976 and three state tournaments in 1961, 1962 and 1963.  Tony was inducted into the Illinois Basketball Hall of Fame in 1983.
