HISTORICAL INFORMATION:
Over the past 50 years the tournament has had 29 players to play in it to go on to professional basketball in the ABA (prior to 1970) and the NBA.  There have been 14 teams that have played in this event to later go on to win the Illinois state basketball championship in the same year.  Since its inception, over 250 players have participated in this event and later went on to play collegiate basketball at the Division I level.
